Round Robin Photo Challenge: First Signs of Spring

This week we are asked to capture the first signs of spring. Things are beginning to bloom around here, although capturing those blooms has been easier said than done given the recent typhoon (8-10 inches of rain earlier this week).

Here are the offerings:
Bradford Pear blossoms. These trees are pretty much useless. They grow fast and tend to fall down in the wind after 10 years (so I should be getting rid of mine now). However, for a week in the spring, they are beautiful.

An orchid. I visited my parents this past weekend, and my mother had a beautiful orchid on the patio. Apparently, this particular variety can be difficult to grow. My mother's technique "benign neglect." It seems to be working very well.
Azaleas. Also captured at my parent's house:
And, finally, back at the ranch. My specialty. Weeds.
Somehow, in the spring when the brown of winter gives way to green, even the weeds are pretty:
Now, go enjoy the other offerings this week

Round Robin Photo Challenge. A comfortable place to be.

The Round Robin Photo Challenge (which I really didn't sign up for this week until the day of; don't know if that is allowed or not), is to show a photo of our most comfortable sitting place, OR a photo of a place we would like to sit. For the 2nd option, please refer to all photos of warm sunny sands and somewhat isolated beaches. A premium is placed on said locations if the water is all warm AND dogs are allowed.

Right now, the great outdoors for me is instantaneous sinus congestion and allergies (HATE that). The inside can be that way, too (know that Zyrtec commercial about inside and outside allergies? Yup, I got them (4+ response to house dust; how rude is THAT).

Anyway, this is my most favorite place to sit, and in the winter time this is what it normally looks like:Yup, I often times sit in the middle of that couch. If I'm lucky, I score the seat next to the table so I can have my lap top. Occasionally, that just doesn't work out.

As noted by the poor dog in front of the couch, sometimes, there isn't enough room in the inn (or on the couch). However, Gabi (the Girl Goober) , isn't put off by the lack of room. She just stacks on top. Often times, the dog on the bottom will give up and leave although Charlie (the bottom dog in this picture) doesn't mind having Gabi crush him as long as it means he can sit right beside the Human Servant.

I think if one watches the Dog Whisperer, this probably anti-What Should be Allowed with Dogs. But hey, we get along.

Round Robin Photo Challenge

This is my first time to participate in the Round Robin Photo Challenge. The challenge this week is SHOES. We are being asked to photograph what it's like to walk in our shoes.

Well, my first picture was taken about 2.5 years ago. Running is one of my past-times, and dogs that run is a 2nd source of stress relief. Baby Hudi curled around my running shoe about sums it up! When she was a young pup, she loved my shoes (and later my socks; that pup has a tendency to un-pack suitcases with socks!).
Here are two more views of some of the "shoes" in my life:
And a black and white version:
I hope you all have enjoyed a picture of my "shoes". Go enjoy the rest of the participants!
