Tonight is an evening for random thoughts.
Hug your hounds and your humans!
Thought 1: I came home this evening to the grackles. For some reason, they fly in groups at this time of the year. They land in fields creating a blanket of dark, chattering birds. Then they take off....they were flying over the house and I could hear their wings beating. It sounded like something out of a bad movie. What makes them fly in such large groups?
Thought 2: One in 100 US adults is currently behind bars according to an article in the New York Times. Good Gravy! I mentioned this article to co-workers....one pointed out the sad point that 5:100 should probably be behind bars.....There is always a realist in the group. It all seems like such a waste. Where are we going wrong? According to the article, violent crimes have dropped in the past 20 years. Somehow, it doesn't feel that way. Perhaps, the connectivity of our current society (through TV/Internet) is making the violence more visible.
Thought 3: Dogs can be the best medicine for what ails us. That is not a news flash, but when all seems topsy turvy in the world, they are always there with their smiles. These are fast dirty pictures from this evening (after the birds flew over), but .....tell me that dogs don't really smile!
