A ship sails and I stand watching till she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says
She is gone.
Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all.
She is just as large now as when I last saw her.
Her diminished size and total loss from my sight is in me, not in her.
And just at that moment, when someone at my side says she is gone,
there are others who are watching her coming over their horizon and other voices take up a glad shout--
There she comes!
That is what dying is,
A horizon and just the limit of our sight.
Lift us up O Lord, that we may see further.

My sincere condolences, Celeste.
Hi Celeste
I've been checking your blog each-and-every-day looking for updates on your father ... but I never expected this.
I'm SO sorry - SO so sorry.
I hope that it's becoming easier with the passing of each day ...
I know you don't know me - I left a message on the first post you left ...(January 2009) - but I can still feel for you and the family.
iol....
I, too, have been checking every day, knowing what the silence probably meant. My sincere condolences to you and your family during this time of loss.

What a beautiful poem. Your father was greatly loved by his daughter. We can ask for no better in this world.
I will hold you in my heart.
love-

Celeste, I hope you are comforted by the fact that you are obviously a very good daughter who tried to honor your father as he fought his last battle. Remember the good times you had with him in the days of both health and illness.
Just stopping by to say hello, Celeste and hope that life is getting back to normal after your father's passing.
Take care of yourself. How are the puppies growing?
Very sorry for your loss.
Be well...
I'm late, sorry for your loss.
Hope all's well with you...
